DIY Pressed Flower Spray Bottles For Everyday Use
Here’s how to make durable DIY pressed flower spray bottles. Plus, get 5 simple ideas for what to fill them with including homemade solutions!
It’s no secret that I have a deep love for flowers and gardening. This year, I went for it, planting more flowers than ever before. It was pure joy filling our garden beds with vibrant blooms, delicate stems, and prairie beauty. But as the season peaks, I am always searching for practical, charming ways to preserve what I’ve grown so we can enjoy it every single day.
That’s what led me to swap plastic spray bottles (eyesore), essential for household care with a dressed up version. Every time I mist our houseplants, refresh our throw pillows, or iron linen napkins, these little floral bottles bring the charm.
And if you’ve hesitated to try floral glassware crafts yourself, worrying that delicate petals will peel right off with daily use, get water-damaged, or turn moldy over time. I had those exact same doubts before testing out the process.
I show you how to create durable, water-resistant spray bottles for your farmhouse. As well as ways to easily preserve your garden blooms for heirloom decor you’ll be proud.

DIY Pressed Flower Spray Bottles For Everyday Use
One of the best things about this project is that it isn’t just pretty, it’s practical!
I didn’t just make them to enjoy the flowers from the garden, I made them for everyday use. You’ll find one on the shelf in my laundry room, another in the kitchen, and one on my bathroom vanity. The decorated glass bottles look charming but each serves a purpose.
Tips and Ideas For Everyday Use
Here’s a list of a few ways that I use them:
Plant Mister – For the indoor plant lover, filling a beautiful floral bottle with distilled water or with a tiny drop of liquid fertilizer, makes misting humidity-loving houseplants into a cozy routine rather than a chore.
Farmhouse Lemon Room Spray – Mix up a bright room spray to bring a sunlit scent to every room. You’ll find my farmhouse recipe among a list of ways I use lemon to clean our home.
Ironing Water – Combine distilled water with just a drop or two of lavender essential oil to make a custom iron water. Spritzing it onto napkins or tea towels just before ironing makes them smell incredible!
Fabric Refresh Spray – Perfect for misting throw pillows, guest bed linens, or refreshing fabrics between laundry days. And it’s an essential cleaning recipe I use alongside steps to clean and deodorize a mattress.
Cleaning Solution – Pour own tried and true cleaning solution directly into a decorated glass bottle. Whether it’s a counter spray or a heavy duty cleaner you can’t do without, you can make it pretty.

Bringing the Flower Garden Indoors
This DIY pressed flower project is a beautiful way to bring the charm of the garden indoors. Whether this is your first time pressing blooms or you’re eager to try a new method, you’ll find four techniques to choose from here.
4 Ways To Press Flowers For Crafts
Wooden Flower Pressing
Popular during Victorian times, this classic method uses layers of drying paper sandwiched inside a wooden press. While it takes several weeks for the blooms to dry completely flat, the heirloom appeal is worth the wait.
Book Pressing
I fell in love with this nostalgic, portable method for flower pressing first! It’s perfect for tucking wild stems and petals away while on out and about. Just be prepared to wait a few weeks for them to flatten. Read my simple guide on how to press flowers in a book for tips.
Iron Pressing
If you’re excited to get your hands on pressed flowers right away, this quick short might be your choice. Place flowers between parchment paper on a heat-safe surface and press firmly with a dry, low-heat iron. Just move slowly so you don’t scorch the delicate petals (I’m definitely guilty of moving too fast.)
Microwave Pressing
Using a microwave press you can zap blooms dry and flat in just minutes. See why it’s my new favorite method with my before and after photos!
No matter which flower-pressing method you choose, you have plenty to work with for this farmhouse project.

How do you seal pressed flowers on glass?
After testing various techniques across different projects from framed floral art to candle holders, I’ve learned what works best.
While instant glass glue is great for quick placement, brushing over top thin petals can sometimes tear and leave an uneven finish. That’s where Mod Podge truly shines.
- Protects Delicate Petals: It creates a gentle protective barrier over dry stems, preventing fragile petals from flaking off when the bottle is picked up.
- Blocks Moisture: It seals out liquid and ambient moisture, preserving the rich color of your garden blooms.
- Smooth, Clear Finish: It cures completely clear, smoothing down petal edges against the curved glass.
For daily use spray bottles Dishwasher-Safe Mod Podge or an All-Purpose Gloss Mod Podge works best. These water-resistant formulas give your floral bottles the extra durability they need.

DIY Pressed Flower Spray Bottles: Beautiful & Useful Farmhouse Decor
This DIY Project to create a functional floral farmhouse decor takes little time! All you need is a few supplies and empty glass spray bottles to get started.
here’s what you’ll need:
Step by Step Instructions:
1. Prep each spray bottle before you begin. Cleaning and drying the glass. A little rubbing alcohol works well to remove oil, fingerprints or residue.
2. Ensure all your stems and petals are completely dry. (Any trapped moisture could cause mold to develop under the sealant.)
3. Using a small paintbrush, apply a thin, even stroke of Mod Podge directly onto a glass bottle where you want to place your first flower.
4. Pick up the flower with curved tip tweezers and press it gently into the glue, paying attention to the curve of the glass to create a bond. Carefully brush tiny strokes of Mod Podge underneath any raised parts of the flower.
5. Continue to add blooms. You’ll see I choose one side of each bottle to decorate. Leaving space for my hand to grab and use the spray bottle.
6. Once you’ve completed your floral arrangement on one bottle, sweep a thin top coat of Mod Podge across the entire design. This creates a smooth, protective seal.
7. Allow the bottles to dry completely before filling a linen spray or other ideas I shared above.
